The 1790 Census for Arundel provided a count of 3 under "All Other Free Persons" in the household of Benjamin Littlefield. These may have been people who were formerly enslaved.

Benjamin Littlefield also previously enslaved Pompey who "stole a sheep in Kittery, was imprisoned for his offense; and to pay prison charges, he was sold and carried off to the West Indies." Bourne, p. 409
