Abigail Howard (DOB ~1840) was the wife and mother listed as part of a family of 4 in the 1880 Kennebunk census. She and her three daughters had been listed as "Mulatto" in the 1870 census for Milbridge, Maine.

The 1880 Census for Kennebunk listed Charles Howard as the head of a household of 4, a Black man age 48, POB: Lousiana; occupation: basket making. Also listed: wife Abagail, and daughters Abbie M and Margret

Charles and Abigail had been listed in the 1860 Orono census as Charles (32, Black, teacher, birthplace Louisiana) and Abigail (22, birthplace Maine).

The family was listed in the 1870 Milbridge, Maine census as "Charles (35, Black, laborer), Abigail L (30, Mulatto), Annie S (9, Mulatto), Alice (5, Mulatto), and Margaret (2, Mulatto)"
